Gardasil Exposed

I have been following the events since the release of the new HPV cancer vaccine for girls called Gardasil and things are not looking very good for its future. Gardasil helps protect against human papilloma virus (HPV), a sexually transmitted disease that can increase a woman's risk of developing cervical cancer. The drug company that created Gardasil recommends that it be given to girls by the age of 9 years old, if you can believe that.

I would suggest that anyone considering using the vaccine or having it given to their child should first watch this video about its dangers. You can view the video on youtube.com at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msoyRYSoSJk . The video was recorded by Jenny Thompson who is the Director of the Health Sciences Institute. Jenny publishes a newsletter and works to provide truthful information about many health issues facing Americans today. Because the Gardasil vaccine is so new, there is very little known about its safety or long-term effect on humans.

When the Gardasil dangers video was made there had been 32 deaths reported so far that were linked to Gardasil. The source for all reported adverse effects linked to Gardasil is the FDA's Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). But unfortunately, 32 is no longer the total number of deaths associated with Gardasil. According VAERS, that number has now climbed to 47. And while the death of 47 young girls is the worst of it, there's plenty more to dislike about this very dangerous vaccine.

The following short story taken from the CBS News website will bring clarity to the seriousness of the situation.

Reported by Sharyl Attkisson who is an investigative correspondent for CBS News.

Yesterday I spoke to the families of young women who believe the Gardasil HPV vaccine may have – or did in fact – cause their child's serious illness. One of the cases involves a now 18-year old young woman named Amanda. Amanda's parents say she developed a serious reaction to Gardasil after her first dose last summer. It began with soreness where she received the injection. The soreness eventually travelled down her arm, her legs, and led to a horrible autoimmune myofasciitis that is so painful Amanda had to go on morphine for the pain.

She was transformed, through the illness, from a high school varsity sport athlete to a chronically ill person who takes a handful of pills a day just to keep her illness tolerable. When she goes off the medicine, the excruciating pain and other debilitating symptoms return. One thing that's different about Amanda's case than some of the others is that both of her parents are medical doctors who didn't think twice about having their daughter get the shot – but are now second-guessing themselves. They call their daughter's illness after Gardasil "a very sobering experience." Amanda's dad says, "as the father of three girls, I've had to ask myself why I let my eldest one get an unproven vaccine against a few strains of a nonlethal virus that can be dealt with in many more effective ways. It's not like they are at high risk. It was the regrettable acceptance of the vaccine party line that [mis]led me."

Gardasil was launched in 2006, and by the end of 2007 there were 19 deaths linked to the vaccine. In 2008, 28 additional deaths were reported. And I think we can safely predict that number will rise again in 2009. Which begs the question: How many deaths will the FDA require before this vaccine is removed from the market? I am sure it is going to happen. Gardasil will eventually join Vioxx and other drugs that have been linked to death after death until the numbers can’t be ignored. But between now and then, many young girls will die, while other girls will suffer harsh and debilitating adverse side effects.

Some of these VAERS cases are chronicled in a recent press release issued by Judicial Watch. They include one girl who required a wheel chair to get around after receiving her second of three Gardasil doses. Another girl, age 19, experienced fatigue, muscle pain, tremor, dizziness, nausea, convulsions, seizures, and loss of consciousness. Other girls have developed genital warts after their vaccinations. In some of these cases, warts also developed on faces, hands and feet. Descriptions of side effects like these go on and on. According to the latest VAERS records, more than 13,700 adverse event reports in the U.S. have now been linked to Gardasil. Given the severity of many of these events, it's hard to say what's worse: 47 deaths, or perhaps thousands of girls suffering for the rest of their lives. How long will it go before the FDA shuts this atrocity down?

It makes you wonder, who is the little girl who will be the last recorded death linked to the HPV vaccine Gardasil? She's out there, alive and well for the moment, and it couldn't be more heartbreaking. Thanks to the lobbying efforts of the manufacturer (Merck), 24 states are actually considering “mandating” the use of Gardasil before allowing young girls to attend school. It is difficult to fathom what greed and money will allow governments and politicians to do.

Keep in mind that Gardasil is trying to prevent cervical cancer which is typically caused by sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Why would anyone want to inject an unproven vaccine in 9 and 10 year old girls who are not even sexually active? Money, that is the only answer. In typical big pharma fashion, the commercials show young girls playing and spending quality time with their moms in an effort to sway you to do it for the “girls” sake. But how would you feel if it was your daughter who was seriously injured or killed by the vaccine? I just don’t see the reasoning behind wanting to have all girls in the U.S. vaccinated when many are not even at risk until they become sexually active. And even then it is clear that Gardasil is far less effective and much more dangerous than advertised, but that should not be a surprise given the track record of the big pharmaceutical companies.

Gardasil's new rival

Just when we begin to make some headway in the battle against Gardasil, another "cervical cancer" vaccine enters the picture. Hold onto your hat, because this one's claiming to be even bigger and better! In a classic "one-up" move, GlaxoSmithKline is claiming that its new vaccine, Cervarix, can protect against five of the most common cervical cancer causing viruses... As opposed to Gardasil, which can only protect against two. According to GSK, that could translate to 11 to 16 percent more protection than Gardasil.

Here we go again.

I've been hearing for years about Gardasil -- that it's not only unnecessary, but extremely dangerous. I have no reason to believe that Cervarix will be any different. Remember, Gardasil's negative effects weren't obvious right away. How could they have been? Instead of doing adequate testing, Merck allowed thousands of girls to be its guinea pigs. And that's exactly what they were. Gardasil was hardly out for any time at all when adverse events began to pour in, with reports of everything from seizures to death. To make matters worse, GSK isn't content using these life-threatening vaccinations on young girls – they think that boys should be getting the shot as well. Of course they do. Extending the vaccination to boys doubles their market with the stroke of a pen.

But wait a minute... why would a boy need to get a vaccine that protects against CERVICAL cancer? That's just it. Gardasil and Cervarix aren't cervical cancer vaccines at all. They help protect against human papilloma virus, a sexually transmitted disease that can increase a woman's risk of developing cervical cancer.

Fortunately, the FDA hasn't approved Cervarix for the U.S. market yet. But if they ever do, make sure your kids and grandkids know the facts about these experimental drugs before they roll up their sleeves to get injections.

I hope you will share this information with friends and family and anyone considering the use of Gardasil. I have a daughter and I would never agree to have her injected with Gardasil until it has proven to be safe. Until the FDA decides to protect our girls, we'll have to do the job ourselves.

Until next time, stay healthy and happy
