Farmed Salmon — One of the Most Toxic Foods in the
World
If you ask the
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) they declare it is farmed
Salmon. In fact, the EPA recommends that you not eat more than one meal
of farmed salmon per month. However, it’s one of the most dangerous
recommendations.
FARMED SALMON
IS ONE OF THE MOST TOXIC FOODS IN THE WORLD.
It’s important
to understand that farm raised fish of ALL species can spell disaster for your
health in a number of ways. First of all, fish were never meant to eat corn,
grains, or poultry and pork for that matter. In addition, farmed fish of all
species are also given a dangerous concoction of vitamins, antibiotics, and
depending on the fish, synthetic pigments.
Shockingly,
research finds that the most abundant source of toxic exposure is not actually
the pesticides or the antibiotics, but the dry pellet feed! Pollutants found in
the fish feed include dioxins, PCBs, and a number of different drugs and
chemicals. These contaminants cause permanent damage to the organism and
is associated with autism, ADHD, disorders of the immune system and the
endocrine system.
According to Dr. Monsen, a prominent biologist:
“I do not recommend pregnant women, children or young people eat farmed salmon. It is uncertain in both the amount of toxins salmon contain, and how these drugs affect children, adolescents and pregnant women… The type of contaminants that have been detected in farmed salmon have a negative effect on brain development and is associated with autism, ADD / ADHD and reduced IQ. We also know that they can affect other organ systems in the body’s immune system and metabolism.”

Omega-3 Levels in Farmed Salmon Is Nearly Half of That in
Wild Salmon
According to
the International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organization (IFFO), today’s farmed
fillet may contain as little as half of the omega-3s as it did less than a
decade ago. This is because farmed salmon are now feasting on byproducts of hog
and poultry processing, soybeans and soybean oil, canola oil, corn and other
grain instead of small wild fish high in omega-3s.
Farmed Salmon Can Cause Cancer
Did you know
that eating more than one meal of farm-raised salmon per month can increase
your risk of developing cancer in the future due to the increased levels of
chemicals and antibiotics?
Farm-raised
salmon contain PCB which are cancer-causing chemicals at a concentration
16 times higher than wild salmon, and the level of dioxin is also higher, by a
factor of 11 fold.
Additionally,
farmed salmon provides your body with higher levels of inflammation producing
omega-6 fatty acids. Inflammation leads to many diseases including cancer,
diabetes, arthritis, coronary artery disease and even Alzheimer’s.
Banned Synthetic Astaxanthin
Farmed salmon
get filled full of synthetic astaxanthin that no government has ever approved
for human consumption. The feed given to farmed fish is a dull gray color. This
potentially harmful variety of astaxanthin is used to make salmon flesh look
more of a pink color so humans who eat farmed salmon will be fooled into
believing they are eating real wild fish.
Did you know
that Farmed Salmon:
- are fed pellets of chicken feces, corn meal, soy, genetically modified canola oil and other fish containing concentrations of toxins
- have seven times the levels of PCB’s as wild salmon
- have 30 times the number of sea lice
- are fed toxic chemicals to give them color
- are given antibiotics at higher levels than any other livestock
- have less omega 3’s due to lack of wild diet
- are susceptible to more disease
Statin
Drugs and Parkinson’s Disease
For years I've been telling you how statins can destroy your liver, trigger diabetes, and cause painful and sometimes deadly muscle damage. You would think that would have been the final straw where statins are concerned… but it wasn't.
Now, after carefully examining the data on millions of patients researchers have come to another very frightening conclusion: Taking statins will up your risk of the devastating neurological condition known as Parkinson's disease.

The cholesterol-brain connection
Imagine for a minute if a supplement was linked to just a
tiny fraction of the health problems statins are known to cause. Now, a new study from the U.S. is
confirming something that British doctors announced last year: There's a link
between these drugs and Parkinson's disease.
In the UK, researchers found an almost double risk between statin use and this debilitating illness. That research was done over the course of two decades and involved close to 16,000 people!
Dr. Kailash Chand, who is deputy chairman of the British Medical Association, commented that the dangers of taking statins are "far greater than any potential benefits," and that their use should be restricted.
And now, researchers from the Penn State College of Medicine have come out with their own findings. This study crunched the data on over 30 million patients, also concluding that those on statin drugs have an increased risk of Parkinson's.
So why is it that a few years ago, a group of researchers tried to make us believe that statins somehow protect against Parkinson's?! At the time, one Big Pharma-connected doctor wrote that he found it a "comforting thought" that statins have this extra advantage of lowering the risk of Parkinson's.
Why, that flies in the face of every single thing we know about cholesterol and the brain. And the only ones being comforted here are the drugmakers who are raking in the billions on meds like Lipitor, Crestor and Zocor.
You see, as one British expert said, Mother Nature made cholesterol for a reason. Cholesterol protects your brain! And when you artificially drive it down to basement levels, you subject yourself to all kinds of neurological diseases. On top of that, the Penn researchers noted that statins block not only cholesterol, but also CoQ10, an enzyme that's "essential for cell function."
That's about the worst-kept secret in medicine. The very well-documented depletion of CoQ10 is so big that a public interest group recently attempted to get the FDA to add a black-box warning to these drugs, alerting users to take a CoQ10 supplement along with a statin.
And last year I told you about a study (one that got almost no coverage in the mainstream media), showing how statins can increase plaque buildup in your arteries and both cause and worsen heart failure.
Any way you look at it, statins are bad news. And unbelievably just one of these drugs, Lipitor, brings in $7 billion a year!
It's time to stop the insanity!
If your doctor keeps giving you the "cholesterol talk," and pushing you to start up on one of these drugs, maybe your best (and safest) course of action is to find another doctor.

Would You Give a Deadly Poison to a Child.
Yet, several years ago, the FDA found trace amounts of two antifreeze chemicals when it examined some batches of the popular OTC laxative MiraLAX -- a drug many pediatricians use as a long-term solution for childhood constipation.
If you think they must have immediately recalled the product and stripped it off shelves... well, it wasn't. Doctors continued telling parents to give the drug to children -- even toddlers.
And to this day they still are.
But where MiraLAX is concerned, those shocking findings aren't even the worst of it. The outcry about what the MiraLAX active ingredient, PEG 3350 (also called polyethylene glycol), may be doing to kids has just about reached the boiling point.
One example is a Facebook group with over 12,000 members, set up to warn other parents and grandparents about it, called "Parents against MiraLAX."
On top of that, it says "A worried mother does better research than the FBI." And, I might add -- better than the FDA!
For over a decade now, parents and doctors have been sending in frightening reports to the FDA about aggression, rage, mood swings, paranoia and manic events in children -- many just toddlers -- after taking the drug.
Nicole Oerkfitz was given MiraLAX when she was three, and after taking it for a little over a week, she turned manic and aggressive. Sadly, although Nicole is now 19, she is still not "completely back to normal," according to her mom, Jeanie Ward.
"I think they are poisoning our children," Ward said.
Jessica Aman, another MiraLAX mom, said the drug caused her son to be "robbed of most of his childhood." Still another described how her daughter developed "weird ticks" after taking it.
Ward was part of a petition sent into the FDA demanding an investigation be done. And years later, the agency finally gave the job to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where it is said to be currently ongoing.
But that may be a day late and a dollar short for untold numbers of children.
Back in 2009, the FDA conducted a so-called investigation into MiraLAX. And although it put the laxative on a list of drugs that have "potential signals of serious risks," it added that "no action is necessary at this time."
And that's where it still sits today, despite the fact that FDA scientists discovered some samples contained trace amounts of highly toxic chemicals that are used in antifreeze! One, ethylene glycol, is responsible for poisoning thousands of animals every year due to antifreeze leaks from cars. In fact, it only takes a teaspoon of it to kill a cat.
Of course, those chemicals aren't supposed to be in there. The FDA said they ended up in MiraLAX due to impurities that were caused by the "manufacturing process." Whoops!
Look, I don't care how those antifreeze chemicals got in there. Obviously, something is going on here, and the FDA has been dragging its feet like it's stuck in molasses.
To top off this incredibly dangerous situation for kids, some pediatricians have no qualms about keeping their patients on MiraLAX for years. And that's despite the fact that the label says it shouldn't be given to anyone under 17... and for no longer than a week!
Certainly a child who "can't go" needs help, but with everything we now know about MiraLAX, it obviously isn't worth the risk.
But if a child you love is currently taking MiraLAX (or a generic version, like Powderlax, ClearLAX, Smooth LAX, and so on), you should know that doctors advise not to stop them cold turkey, but slowly reduce the dosage.
Along with the usual advice to up fiber, water and exercise, experts say these tips can help move things along:

- Try to establish a "bathroom routine" at the same time every day to help them get into the habit of "going."
- If a child's constipation is chronic, a pediatrician should investigate possible problems in their colon, thyroid issues and even food allergies.
- Try cutting down on dairy products while increasing the "P" foods -- prunes, pears, plums and peaches.
Until next time,
stay healthy and happy
