California declares glyphosate weed
killer (Roundup) to be a cancer-causing poison
I have been warning everyone for a couple years
that there was more and more evidence coming out showing how dangerous GMO
foods and their pesticide Glyphosate might be. In a significant victory for
consumer safety — and a devastating blow to Monsanto — California’s Office
of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has declared that glyphosate
weed killer is
a known, cancer-causing carcinogen that will be added to the scope of
Proposition 65.
“The listing is the latest legal
setback for the seeds and chemicals company, which has faced increasing
litigation over glyphosate since the World Health Organization’s International
Agency for Research on Cancer said that it is “probably carcinogenic” in a
controversial ruling in 2015,” reports Reuters, which has a pro-GMO bias.
“Dicamba, a weed killer designed for use with Monsanto’s next generation of
biotech crops, is under scrutiny in Arkansas after the state’s plant board voted
last week to ban the chemical,” Reuters added.
Beginning July 7th, retailers in California must
add cancer warning labels to glyphosate products.
Unfortunately, cancer warnings will not be required
on foods sprayed with glyphosate or grocery products saturated with the
cancer-causing herbicide.
Many non-GMO crops such as wheat and barley are
currently sprayed with glyphosate to speed their drying in the fields before
harvest. This means that glyphosate contamination is now commonly found even on
crops that are not genetically engineered, and it’s now a common contaminant in
non-organic wheat products such as cereals, breads and muffins.
Monsanto sued California to try
to stop the listing, but failed
Monsanto has already sued the OEHHA in an effort to
block the Prop 65 listing, and a court appeal is currently pending (case number
F075362 in the Fifth District Court of Appeal). California’s OEHHA website states:
“Monsanto’s challenge was unsuccessful in the trial
court. Although the case has been appealed, no stay of the listing has
been granted. Therefore, glyphosate is being added to the Proposition 65 list
on July 7, 2017.”
Could cholesterol meds... give you Parkinson's disease?
Fat in your belly? That's nothing. You should see what's in your brain!
If your brain were a person, it would be a sumo wrestler. It's 60 percent fat and home to about 25 percent of all the cholesterol in your body.
Your brain needs all this fat and cholesterol to function, so the last thing in the world it wants is a low-fat diet... yet that's exactly what cholesterol drugs are to your gray matter.
They're a diet for the brain, sucking out that essential cholesterol.
Now, new research exposes the ugly toll of those drugs, revealing how they can pull out so much cholesterol that you could suffer crippling and permanent damage upstairs.
And that could lead DIRECTLY to Parkinson's disease!
The risk kicks in almost immediately and is highest within the first two and a half years on the meds -- a discovery that takes one of the mainstream's favorite statin talking points and flips it COMPLETELY upside down.
Those kooks have had the gall to claim the drugs can prevent just about every disease you can think of, including Parkinson's. They can even whip out a study or two that supposedly show people who stop taking the drugs have a higher risk.
But as it turns out, the statins weren't stopping the disease. The onset of the disease itself was probably the reason the people stopped the drugs!
The new study finds the biggest risk is linked to fat-soluble statins, which are more common and include some of the big-name drugs you see advertised on TV all the time.
That makes perfect sense; your brain has a natural mechanism that keeps most drugs out. Fats, on the other hand, have a free pass -- like I said, your brain loves the stuff -- so, any drug that can cloak itself in fat has a ticket into your brain.
And once inside, they're like teens at a party while the parents are away. They wreck the joint!
They cut down the levels of cholesterol, short-circuiting a molecule you need for dopamine, a.k.a. the neurotransmitter that goes missing in Parkinson's patients.
And that's only the beginning of the risks once those statins are running amok in your brain, with the drugs being linked to everything from mood disorders to memory loss and dementia.
That would be too much risk even if the drugs DID do something for you, but the ugly truth is that they really DON'T. If you're on a healthy diet and have a total cholesterol of between 200 and 300, you don't have too much to worry about.
Higher than that, and you don't need a drug. You need a doc who can figure out what's causing it.

The natural way to KILL prostate cancer
You might forget about the cancer... but it NEVER forgets about you.
That's why it's critical to give that cancer a taste of its own medicine. Even if you have a type of prostate tumor that doesn't need treatment, you need to work to make sure it NEVER has a chance to grow and spread.
Now, the latest research reveals a highly effective way to CUT OFF the cancer's food supply... STARVE the tumor... and even KILL it, long before it has a chance to hurt you.
And you're not going to believe how easy it is!
The key starts with apples and grapes, two staples in the produce aisle and two foods we all love and keep in the basket on the table.
You've got the basket -- and it's got REAL fruit, right? If not, it's time to toss the wax and fill it with the real deal. Trust me, you'll want to keep plenty of it on hand when you hear about what it can do to prostate tumors.
The study looked at some 142 compounds found in common foods to see which are most effective at wiping out prostate cancer cells.
The ursolic acid found in apple skins and the resveratrol found in the skins of grapes were two of the best at stopping prostate cancer in both lab-dish tests and in experiments on mice.
That's already a win. But when researchers mixed them together, something absolutely stunning happened. An entirely NEW reaction kicked in -- and this one literally STARVED the tumors!
When the two compounds were combined, the prostate cancer cells were blocked from pulling in glutamine, an amino acid they need to grow.
Without that glutamine, the cancer is completely and utterly powerless. It wasn't just the apples and grapes that did it.
The researchers found a very similar reaction when they mixed the ursolic acid found in apple skins with the curcumin found in turmeric, a spice used in curry.
The downside to that, of course, is that you can't have a bowl of curry sitting on the table at all times. But apples and grapes? They can have a permanent place of honor.
If you don't have cancer, or at least don't think you have cancer, eating more apples and grapes just might help prevent the disease from ever taking hold.
But if you have this cancer and need to focus on stopping it, let's not kid ourselves here. Munching on an apple and some grapes alone probably won't do a heck of a lot.
That's when it's time to break out the big guns: Both ursolic acid and resveratrol are available as supplements along with Curcumin. Since sugar also fuels cancer cells, not eating too much fruit may be helpful.
Your natural doctor can help figure out if they're right for you and how much you need.

Want to prevent skin cancer? Eat more
tomatoes … new science confirms powerful anti-cancer effect
If you’re worried about skin cancer but you don’t want to slather yourself in
toxic sunscreen before heading outdoors, you might have heard the advice that a
proper diet full of antioxidants can naturally boost your skin’s sun
protection. While this remains an effective approach, a new study shows there
is one food in particular you should focus on if you’re a man: tomatoes.
According
to a study out of Ohio State University, daily
tomato consumption can slash skin cancer tumor development by as much as 50
percent.
The
study, which was published in Scientific
Reports, discovered that male mice who were fed a diet composed of
ten percent tomato powder each day over the course of 35 weeks had a 50 percent
reduction in skin cancer tumors when compared to mice who did not eat any
dehydrated tomato after being exposed to ultraviolet light.
Interestingly,
the same effect was not seen in the female mice who were studied. Past research
has found that male mice develop tumors more quickly after being exposed to UV
light, and their tumors tend to be bigger, greater in number and more
aggressive.
The
scientists believe that it’s the carotenoids in the tomatoes that are
responsible for this protective effect against damage from UV light in the male
mice. These pigmenting compounds are what give tomatoes their red color, and
past studies have shown that they are deposited into human skin after eating
tomatoes. In fact, previous human trials have found that consuming tomato paste
can help dampen sunburns.
The
primary carotenoid in tomatoes, lycopene, is the most effective antioxidant
among the various pigments, but other compounds are also believed to play a
role because synthesized lycopene supplements did not prevent redness following
UV exposure as well as consuming the entire tomato in the previous study.
The
senior author of the latest report, Tatiana Oberyszyn, said that the new
finding shows how considering sex could be useful in discovering appropriate
preventive strategies for skin cancer as measures that work in men might not
necessarily work in women.
Past studies support tomatoes’ skin protection power
Past
studies have shown that consuming tomato paste acts as an internal sunscreen.
In an experiment carried out in England, researchers found that volunteers who
had eaten 55 grams of tomato paste each day for three months had 33 percent
more sunburn protection than the control group. In addition, they had
significantly higher levels of a protein that helps preserve skin structure
known as procollagen. Researchers in that study said that the tomato diet could
help reverse the skin’s aging process, and they pointed out that the amount of
tomato involved was not very high. In fact, most people could easily consume
that much by eating tomato-based meals regularly.
They
opted for tomato paste in the study because cooking heightens the
bioavailability of lycopene; the lycopene
found in raw tomatoes is bound in a form that is not as easy
for the body to use.
Tomatoes protect against a range of cancer types
There are
plenty of other reasons to stock up on organic tomatoes. While they might not
get all the attention of other superfoods, they can help reduce your
risk of several types of cancer in addition to skin cancer.
They are
particularly protective against prostate cancer, with
one study finding that eating tomatoes or tomato-based products like tomato
sauce more than twice a week could reduce a man’s risk of prostate cancer by as
much as 34 percent. They’ve also shown an ability to reduce lung, breast,
larynx, pharynx, and mouth cancer.
Meanwhile,
in Italy, where tomatoes are a dietary staple, those who ate seven servings of
raw tomatoes per week were found to have a 60 percent lower risk of cancer,
particularly that of the digestive tract.
OTC allergy nasal
sprays can rob you of your vision
By Melissa Young at
Health Science Institute
It's a warning you won't be seeing on the label --
or likely even hearing from your doctor. Using those popular,
easy-to-find, OTC allergy nasal sprays could rob you of your vision.
These drugs contain a steroid that can cause you to develop what's called a "posterior subcapsular cataract." That's right -- cataracts!
Or, perhaps something even worse: glaucoma.
And that's not the only one of your senses it takes from you.
But even if you read the package up, down, and all around, you still wouldn't be informed of those risks. Due to one of the most lax and dangerous FDA practices out there called the Rx-to-OTC switch, drugmakers can get away with keeping such awful side effects a deep, dark secret.
At one time, you could only use nasal sprays like Flonase and Nasacort under a doctor's orders.
Going to see your doctor, getting a prescription for the drug, and getting it filled at your pharmacy (possibly even chatting with your pharmacist about it) would make you take that med pretty seriously. You might even take a look at the insert that lists the side effects.
And if that were the case with the Rx version of Flonase, you'd learn that using it "may result in the development of glaucoma and/or cataracts." In fact, right up on the very top of the prescription-version label it warns that "close monitoring" should be done for those vision-stealers!
On top of that, the prescription "patient information" sheet says that you should have "regular eye exams while you use Flonase."
The OTC version is exactly the same strength as the Rx kind. And all you'll find on the OTC package is a cryptic notice to "ask a doctor before use" if you "have or had" glaucoma or cataracts and to stop using it if you have "new changes" to your vision.
Those statements don't quite have the same punch to them as the Rx ones, now, do they?
And drugmakers don't duplicate those prescription-version warnings for one reason and one reason only -- the FDA says they don't have to.
Another side effect that was important enough to land on the Rx Flonase package but not the OTC one is what this drug can do to your senses of smell and taste.
Scores of visitors to the People's Pharmacy website have complained about that for years now, often saying that their doctors shrug off the problem as if it doesn't even exist.
One reader recently recounted how his sense of smell never returned after using one of these steroid sprays. "I really miss the smell of the ocean," he says.
Another told how she couldn't even smell the gas leaking from her stove when she was standing right in front of it. "That was my wake-up call, and I have never used Flonase again," she said.
And you don't have to either!
There are natural treatments that help with allergies that I would try first before using a dangerous drug like Flonase or Nasacort.
