Flu Vaccine Increases Your Risk of Infecting Others by 6-Fold, Study Suggests

Posted on: Sunday, January 28th 2018

A provocative new study on flu virus transmission found that subjects had 6.3 times more aerosol shedding of flu virus particles if they received vaccination in the current and previous season compared with having no vaccination in those two seasons.

Vaccination is predicated on the rarely questioned belief that it confers bona fide immunity against targeted pathogens. This is why the terms vaccination and immunization are often used interchangeably, a disingenious semantic confusion that is rarely confronted or corrected. In the case of flu vaccine, certainty about this approximates religious faith, with the CDC taking on the role of the Church, conventional doctors the clergy, and the published literature Holy Scripture.

But what if the literature fails to support the orthodoxy? There are in, in fact, hundreds of examples of this. We have gathered a modest 500 studies which show the untintended, adverse effects of how many vaccines outweigh their purported benefits, all of which you can view on our open access database on the topic here: http://www.greenmedinfo.com/anti-therapeutic-action/vaccination-all

The latest addition to this growing body of literature is found in a newly published article titled, "Infectious Virus Exhaled In Breath Of Symptomatic Seasonal Flu Cases," published in PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Science).

The study found that flu carriers exhale significant quantities of infectious influenza virus, and that counterintuitively, sneezing is rare and not important for influenza virus aerosolization; nor is coughing required to transmit these particles. Simply breathing will do.

Additionally, the study found that males shed influenza viruses in greater quantity than females through fine aerosols, and women cough more frequently.

But what is most salient about the study was the following finding:
"6.3 (95% CI 1.9–21.5) times more aerosol shedding among cases with vaccination in the current and previous season compared with having no vaccination in those two seasons."

Ladies, your new favorite diet is here

Written by: Jack Harrison at The Daily Dose

Forget Jenny Craig.

Ladies, if you want to melt off that muffin top and burn off fat faster than ever, I've got a much better role model for you.

Wilma Flintstone!

New research put the so-called "caveman" (or in this case, "cavewoman") diet up against the popular and supposedly healthy Nordic diet backed by all the usual mainstream know-it-alls.

But this study came with a twist.

The researchers specifically looked at older women, who often struggle to lose weight after menopause.

The Paleo diet – a low-carb, high-protein, high-fat lifestyle rich in ALL of the foods you love but have been told to avoid – can turn it around in a hurry.

In the new study, this all-natural, back-to-basics lifestyle went head-to-head against the Nordic Nutrition Recommendations, which is a new spin on the usual mainstream nonsense.

Blah blah blah, watch your fat. Blah blah blah, avoid red meat. Blah blah blah, gnaw on your greens. Blah blah blah, ditch the booze.

Well, friend, the new study lets you tune out all of the blah blah blah, because the Nordic diet got absolutely CLUBBED by the cavewoman.

The older gals in this study who went Paleo dropped an average of 20 pounds, and that's compared to 13 pounds among the Nordic dieters, which is already a big win for Wilma.

But good health isn't just about the numbers on the scale.

Both sets of dieters saw inflammation levels plunge, including inflammation in both fat tissue and in circulation.

But the Paleo dieters got an even bigger boost right where it matters most.

They had lower levels of abdominal fat, a.k.a. the belly fat that leads to "muffin top" and struggles getting your clothes to fit.

This kind of fat is more than just unsightly.

That same fat is also the blubber that puts the squeeze on your organs from the inside, leading to serious and potentially deadly health problems including metabolic syndrome, fatty liver disease, diabetes, heart disease, and more.

The Paleo dieters also had lower levels of unhealthy fatty acids in the blood and less activity in the enzymes that cause fat to build up in the body.

Put it all together, and the writing's on the cave wall: The REAL key to weight loss and overall good health is ditching processed foods and carbs and getting back to the Stone Age when it comes to what's in your stoneware.

Alzheimer’s Prevention

As researchers pour billions of dollars into searching for ways to prevent and treat Alzheimer's, could the answer be as simple as... a trip to the supermarket?

Researchers at UCLA have just published the results of a nearly two-year trial studying the brain-protective powers of a humble spice.

And what they found was simply amazing.

Taking these findings to heart -- and to your kitchen -- could be the easiest way possible to stay sharp, keep your memories intact, and, as an added bonus, improve your mood as well!

Recently I told you how Big Pharma had thrown up its hands in disgust after its latest Alzheimer's drug fail.

I also gave you the details about certain natural approaches to protecting against dementia and Alzheimer's, such as increasing your intake of foods containing anti-inflammatories, omega-3 fatty acids, and tryptophan.

And as I have stated previously, you can now add curcumin -- the active, brain-saving ingredient in the spice turmeric -- to that list.

A double-blind study done by UCLA researchers -- just published in the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry -- has come up with further proof of the superpowers of this humble yellow spice.

They found that it can improve your memory and ability to stay focused... reduce inflammation... elevate your mood... and (drumroll, please) reduce amyloid plaques in the brain.

Those, of course, are thought to be a primary culprit in the development of Alzheimer's disease.

You wouldn't know it by the amount of press that this study received, but the implications of these findings are enormous! As the researchers explained, these "brain health benefits" appear to come from curcumin's ability to disrupt the "formation, accumulation, and toxicity of amyloid plaques."

And that's a very big deal. It's the holy grail of what Big Pharma has been trying to accomplish over the years.

A drug that could do that would be worth billions. And yet, that remarkable benefit can be achieved by just a spice.

Now, it would be incredible enough if those finding came from laboratory studies with rats or mice.

But this research was with people who ranged in age from 50 to 90 years and had been experiencing memory problems. And the amount of curcumin they were given wasn't some gigantic dose, either, but a 90-milligram supplement twice daily for 18 months.

To put that into perspective, one teaspoon of ground turmeric contains approximately 200 mg of curcumin (depending on where it was grown and under what conditions). But you can help your body absorb this spice better by using another spice in your cooking right along with it -- black pepper!

Along with all those phenomenal benefits, those taking the curcumin also reported a boost to their moods. That could mean that a daily dose of turmeric could also have a role in battling depression -- especially in seniors. In fact, that will be one of the aims of a follow-up study the UCLA team is planning.

Exactly how this compound is able to provide such seemingly miraculous benefits is something we just don't know yet. But the researchers believe that it may be due to its ability to reduce brain inflammation, which they say has been linked to both Alzheimer's disease and major depression.

So, don your chef's hat and pull out your recipe book! And if curry isn't your favorite, there are plenty of other dishes that turmeric can be used in, ranging from fish to meat to chicken. Even if you don't do a lot of cooking, you can still benefit by taking it in supplement form. Most curcumin supplements have pepper added to increase absorption, but you can also use a higher bioavailable version called Meriva that works well in our body.

The only caveat is that it can thin your blood, so avoid it if you're currently on an Rx blood thinner. Or talk to your doctor first.

Facts About Imodium A-D

By Melissa Young at Health Science Institute

We've all been hit with it at one time or another -- Montezuma's Revenge! It can happen on an adventure to a faraway locale or right in your own home

And I bet you have the go-to treatment for that in your medicine cabinet right now: the old standby loperamide, a.k.a. Imodium A-D.

But before you "run" into the need for some and reach for that bottle or those caplets, you should know it has two strikes against it: One, it's an opioid (that's right, an OTC opioid!), and two, it has been linked to numerous sudden deaths.

I know, that sounds incredibly bizarre for such a popular drug. And it's something the FDA has been diddling over for decades. Just last week, in fact, the agency issued another meaningless "Drug Safety Communication" over loperamide with a plan to "foster safe use" of the drug.

That would be for manufacturers to voluntarily stop selling those giant-size boxes (you can easily get it in counts of 200 caplets -- or more!) and limit the number per box, maybe even with single-dose packages.

But as you and I both know, when drugmakers do something voluntarily, that can take months or even years.

The problem with loperamide, however, is that even if Big Pharma goes ahead with exactly what the FDA asks it to do, it may not make this drug one iota safer for you to take.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Deadly duos
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To get the full picture of how the FDA has been hemming and hawing over loperamide, you have to go back to its original approval in 1976. At that time, it was on the list of controlled substances -- right along with morphine

But that didn't last too long. By the 1980s, it had somehow morphed into the "super-safe," popular drug for diarrhea that it is today. Along the way, however, the FDA started hearing reports of people dying after taking the med.

And according to that recent communiqué I just mentioned, the FDA continues to receive reports of "serious heart problems and deaths" brought on by the drug.

But, not to worry! Those primarily involve people who take huge amounts of Imodium and other generic brands of loperamide to get high, the agency claims.

Okay, hold the phone. Yes, some people have used large amounts of loperamide to get a buzz (it's an opioid after all)... but what constitutes a deadly dose could be a lot less than you think!

On top of that, the drug is known to potentially become deadly when combined with numerous other medications -- including OTC ones that would seem quite logical to take right along with a drug to treat diarrhea. (I'll give you some names in a minute).

So, while a lot of those cases were due to taking intentional large doses to get high, others weren't.

Exactly how many people have been harmed -- or killed -- by taking loperamide as directed? It's impossible to say.

That's because only a fraction of the actual adverse events caused by any drug are reported to the FDA. And not only are those reports voluntary, but many of the known side effects caused by loperamide are heart related, such as abnormal cardiac rhythm or heart attack.

Seriously, is every heart attack patient asked if they took this drug? Of course not! This could well be a major cause of heart problems that's just flying under the radar.

As I said, this med can interact with many different drugs, potentially creating an increase of loperamide in your body. It's the same effect that you would get from taking an overdose, even when you're really not!

Some of those common meds shockingly include:
  • Tagamet HB, the popular OTC acid reducer,
  • Zantac, another OTC acid drug also used to treat ulcers and GERD,
  • clarithromycin and erythromycin, both antibiotics,
  • gemfibrozil, a cholesterol-lowering med sold under the name Lopid, and
  • Qualaquin, a quinine-based prescription drug used to treat leg cramps.
And the FDA even warns about the quinine present in tonic water!

Yes, there are a lot of questions. But we know for sure that there's no reason to risk taking loperamide -- especially since taking it can cause the opposite problem and leave you backed up for days afterwards!

Instead, you can effectively treat diarrhea with home remedies such as yogurt, kefir (a probiotic drink), bananas, and even coconut macaroons.

Just be aware that the biggest danger when you have diarrhea is dehydration, and that's especially true where kids are concerned. So, be sure to use natural drinks that can rehydrate, ones that contain the electrolytes that are vital to replace after even a short bout.

Until next time, stay healthy and happy
