Aspirin and Heart Attacks, Deadly Bug Sprays, High Fat Foods, Gardasil Vaccine Update, New Elderly Flu Shot
Does Aspirin Prevent Cancer and Heart Attacks?
I don't know if our government's obsession with aspirin is preventing any headaches -- but it's giving me plenty!
The Feds and Big Pharma have been in cahoots for years trying to force a daily aspirin regimen on every poor adult in America. They've even ignored years of research proving that aspirin is more likely to cause deadly stomach bleeds than prevent heart attacks.
But now a new government group is making the most ridiculous aspirin claims yet.
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force -- an "independent" panel that's in the pocket of the drug companies -- is claiming that aspirin can prevent heart disease and cancer!
But this new advice is based on two dangerous lies our government doesn't want you to know about. Lies that could cost you your life.
When it comes to the new aspirin guidelines the USPSTF is getting ready to roll out, one of the top heart doctors in the country isn't mincing words.
The group "has gotten it wrong," said Dr. Steve Nissen, cardiology chief at the Cleveland Clinic, and it's a mistake that will affect "millions of people."
After a public comments period (more on that in a moment) ends in October, USPSTF will start telling doctors to put you on aspirin to prevent heart attacks and cancer. The advice is supposed to be based on an "exhaustive" review of the research -- but when I dug into it, I found the USPSTF was spreading two deadly lies.
Lie #1: Evidence proved that aspirin can prevent heart attacks
The USPSTF claims its analysis showed aspirin can keep you safe from heart disease -- and the media ate this nonsense with a spoon. I even saw one headline that read, "Aspirin Therapy Helps Elderly Prevent Heart Attack."
Are you kidding me? Is nobody actually reading this research?
The fact is, the USPSTF found smoking-gun proof that millions of people are taking daily aspirin right now who shouldn't be. If you're younger than 50 or older than 69, the group couldn't find a shred of evidence that aspirin can help you.
And if you're between the ages of 50 and 69? Well, the news wasn't much better.
The USPSTF found that for folks aged 50-59, aspirin may provide a "moderate" benefit (that's some endorsement, huh?) but only if:
· You're at an increased risk of heart disease;
· You have no risk of gastrointestinal bleeding; and
· You're willing to take the stuff for 10 years straight!
How many of us are really going to pass that test? And the evidence that aspirin can help people in their 60s was so weak that even the USPSTF rated it a "C" on an A-F scale.
Lie #2: Aspirin can cut your cancer risk
The USPSTF research supposedly "proved" that daily aspirin can reduce your chances of dying from colorectal cancers by 33 percent.
Like heck it did. What the USPSTF was slow to mention was that the people in these trials were taking up to 1,200 mg. of aspirin a day for 10-20 years.
That's nearly 15 Bayer low-dose aspirin tablets every single day. Forget run-of-the-mill gastrointestinal bleeding -- your guts will be springing leaks like an old faucet!
And the claims on how aspirin can reduce your cancer risk are based on nothing but a statistical magic trick called "relative risk."
That means scientists take a pool of people and estimate how many of them should get colorectal cancer. If they expect two patients to develop the disease -- and only one does instead -- they'll claim aspirin cut your risk by 50 percent.
In other words, there wasn't a shred of proof that aspirin really prevented a single case of cancer. This is just a smoke-and-mirrors technique that drug companies use all the time.
Of course, that hasn't stopped groups like the American Cancer Society from telling the New York Times that aspirin may even help prevent esophageal and stomach cancer, too.
Based on what? Don't be shocked if you see Bayer sponsor the next ACS walk-a-thon.
Bug Sprays That Keep On Killing!
It looks like when it comes to killing, these toxic bug sprays don't know when to stop.
Harvard researchers are frantically warning that many of the most popular pesticides on the market -- ones you can buy at any supermarket or hardware store -- are giving our kids and grandkids cancer.
And it looks like even the slightest exposure to these poisons can turn deadly for a child you love. There's nothing harder to understand -- or accept -- than when a child is diagnosed with cancer.
You'll hear plenty of long-winded explanations from doctors about genetics and other factors that can leave our kids with this deadly disease.
But it looks like there are plenty of other culprits we've never been told about. And the same household pesticides we've been relying on for years to kill roaches, ants and other critters may be leaving countless kids fighting for their lives.
Researchers at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health carefully researched data on kids who developed leukemia or lymphoma.
And it turns out that children who had been exposed to any indoor insecticides were 47 percent more likely to come down with leukemia. And for lymphoma, the risk jumped by a heartbreaking 43 percent.
Of course, you're going to hear plenty of talk from the companies who make this stuff about how childhood cancers are still pretty rare, and you should feel free to keep spraying.
But that's complete nonsense. Leukemia is the most common cancer found in children, and lymphoma is the third most common.
And Alex Lu, who led the study, said many adult cancers such as prostate and bladder may be triggered by exposure to bug killers during our childhoods
Now the fact that these household pesticides are incredibly dangerous isn't exactly news – there have been warnings about them for years. Lots of the sprays you'll see at the supermarket belong to a class called organophosphates that were actually developed from biological weapons like nerve gas.
And previous studies proved that they can damage DNA, so it's easy to see how they trigger cancer.
What's really frightening is that researchers aren't sure exactly how much exposure it takes to put kids at risk -- and it could be very little. In fact, you can be sure that many of the kids in the Harvard study hadn't been exposed to heavy-duty doses of the chemicals.
But the problem is that these pesticides can linger in your home for days. In fact, when Lu's research is published in Pediatrics next month, another study will be sounding the alarm about this very risk.
This separate research is about a 7-month-old baby who died in her sleep -- seemingly a victim of SIDS. But doctors who performed an autopsy on her found high levels of a bug killer in her brain tissue. The same insecticide her father sprayed on flies two weeks before her death.
Can you imagine anything more devastating than having a child die simply because you were trying to keep flies out of the house?
Look, we can research this until the cows come home, but as far as I'm concerned we have enough evidence right now to say using insect killers inside our homes is too big a risk to take.
And thankfully, it's one we don't have to.

High Fat Foods
For decades we've been told that high fat foods are killing us. And if you weren't buying into that, well, neither was the science.
The latest heavyweight study to tip the health scale towards a diet with lots of good fat is just out. And it's news that women everywhere need to know.
Women on a Mediterranean-style diet, one that included an extra four tablespoons a day of olive oil, were able to reduce their risk of breast cancer by an amazing 68 percent compared to those on a low-fat diet!
The results of this study out of Spain published in JAMA Internal Medicine followed 4,000 women for five years. So it wasn't some slap-dash research, but very carefully designed.
This new study also adds to the growing body of research that puts olive oil in a category all of its own.
Previously it has it been shown to reduce the risk of heart attack, diabetes, stroke, and dementia. And now we can add breast cancer. I'd like to see Big Pharma say that about any of its drugs.
The researchers are hoping to see those breast-cancer results validated in further studies. But given that it's extra virgin olive oil we're talking about, not a costly and risky drug, there's no reason for us to wait.
Especially given what previous studies have found about other benefits of the same diet, which, in addition to olive oil, is high in fruits, veggies and fish, and low in meat and dairy products.
Three years ago, the first phase of this research tested 7,500 subjects with either type 2 diabetes or at least three other cardiac risk factors. It found the ones who ate a Mediterranean diet featuring either additional nuts or olive oil were 30 percent less apt to have a heart attack or stroke than those on a low-fat diet.
And earlier this year, results of memory tests given to older volunteers assigned the same diets showed similar results. And those on the extra virgin olive oil regimen had the best scores of all.
But remember -- not all extra virgin olive oils are created equal, and some have even been found to be fakes. To be sure you're getting the "real thing," look for oil in dark glass bottles that are stamped with a "best by" date at least two years away. (Remember -- olive oil, unlike wine, doesn't improve with age.)
And while Old-World olive oil might sound more romantic, your best guarantee might be a California brand that's certified "extra virgin" by the California Olive Oil Council. Surprisingly, where olive oil is concerned, "buy American" might be especially good advice!
My comment:
It has now been proven that fat is not the enemy. Your body needs “good” fat to function properly. And you do not get high cholesterol from eating fatty foods, with several large studies confirming this! Yet many medical associations and doctors still cling to the old belief that a low-fat diet will prevent heart disease. But we now know that a low-fat diet is the worst thing you can do for your health. So make sure you get plenty of good fats like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado, eggs and grass fed butter in your diet. Use organic whenever possible to avoid pesticides.
Gardasil Vaccine Update
Gardasil is now being recommended for young girls AND boys as a way to expand sales. If you read the Gardasil vaccine insert sheet, it says, in plain language, that it causes people to lose consciousness, pass out and possibly hurt themselves falling down.
But that's only the beginning. It also puts some victims into a coma. Following the recent airing of a documentary in Denmark pointing out the wave of health effects associated with Gardasil, European authorities are apparently rethinking the administration of this vaccine, which appears to cause permanent health damage in many of those who receive it.
In fact, earlier this year researchers from Denmark identified 53 Danish kids who had an HPV vaccine followed by "symptoms consistent with pronounced autonomic dysfunction."
In other words, the shot attacked and shut down parts of their nervous systems, leaving them in constant pain.
These cases have been piling up in the U.S. for years. As I've told you before, the FDA has received thousands of reports on Gardasil through the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. As of 2013 the number of serious side effects reported were just shy of 30,000. That included 136 deaths and more than 900 kids who are now disabled, possibly for life.
So many people have been harmed by Gardasil that the EU has launched an investigation into the deadly vaccine. Here's the scoop: Read the full story here
New Elderly Flu Shot Coming….Better Know What You Are Getting
The FDA is on the verge of unleashing a dangerous experimental vaccine called Fluad on millions of America's seniors. It's supposed to be the next great leap in vaccine technology. But Fluad has a deadly secret ingredient that most people will never hear about.
It destroyed thousands of American soldiers' lives after the first Gulf War and may have killed 19 people who died in Italy last year after receiving the shot.
The next time your doctor tries to talk you into a flu vaccine, it looks like you'll have two choices -- one that probably won't work, or one that could seriously hurt you.
For years the traditional flu vaccine has been failing as many as 90 percent of seniors who get the shot. But Fluad, the new, alternative vaccine about to hit the market, is a very dangerous alternative.
An FDA advisory panel recently recommended the agency approve Fluad, made by Novartis, for folks over 65. You may have heard a bit about Fluad last year, when 19 seniors in Italy died within days of getting the shot.
At first the Italian government banned Fluad -- but then they let it back on the market after investigators said they couldn't find any evidence the shots were contaminated.
Well, of course not. Fluad doesn't need to be contaminated -- the poison that can kill you is actually one of its ingredients.
You see, Fluad is made with a dangerous "adjuvant" called MF59. Adjuvants are chemicals vaccine makers add to their shots to jumpstart your immune system.
But the problem with MF59 is that it contains a natural compound called squalene that's found throughout your body. And when MF59 is injected into you, it can signal your immune system to attack squalene anywhere it can find it -- including your brain.
And even if MF59 doesn't kill you, it can leave you with neurological and other health problems you'll be battling for the rest of your life.
MF59 was actually the secret, unapproved ingredient that was contained in the experimental anthrax vaccine given to hundreds of thousands of troops who served in the first Gulf War.
And it was the MF59 in those shots that is now considered to be the real reason behind the epidemic of Gulf War Syndrome in those vets. Doctors from Tulane University found that almost all of the vets ill with GWS had antibodies to MF59 in their blood.
Many of these brave men and women have spent more than 20 years dealing with debilitating symptoms like fatigue, dizziness, memory loss, joint pain and insomnia -- all thanks to an ingredient the FDA now wants to force on millions of American seniors.
So how did Novartis convince the FDA that MF59 is now safe? It didn’t! Because it doesn't have to. Believe it or not, because MF59 isn't considered an active ingredient it doesn't have to undergo any kind of separate safety testing.
But I think the people who were killed or had their lives permanently ruined by MF59 would tell you it was plenty "active" in their bodies.
I wish I could tell you our government was going to do the right thing and protect you from Fluad and MF59 -- but you know better by now. Fluad is going to be approved and on the market soon, maybe even in a matter of weeks.
So now the slogan “Just Say No” should apply to this new flu shot too.
Until next time, stay healthy and happy
